The 2010 nominations are now closed.
Please read all of the following policies before making a nomination, or you risk your nom being discarded.
These are nominations, NOT votes. There is no need to re-nominate those who have already been nominated. Please check the list of the current noms first!
- Contact: You must provide us with a valid way of contacting both you AND the nominee; ideally both a phone number and an email. We will try to contact them if you don't have the information, but cannot guarantee your nomination will be accepted if we can't get in touch with the nominee.
- Eligibility: Please note that the current chairman and vice-chair of the LALC (Steve Ganzell and Richard Denton) are not eligible for nominations. Also, last year's individual winners may NOT be nominated in any categories. (Ms Diana, George Wong, Loren Berthelsen, Goddess Chal and Mistress Cyan.) Businesses and clubs are not eligible in the same category they won the previous year. (So Eagle LA and the LA Band of Brother's are ineligible in 2010.)
- Category - pleas make sure you pick a sensible award category for your nomination. We get some wacky-indecipherable nominations - a person nominated as an event, a business as a mentor etc. If you're not sure please read the criteria!
- Geographic Areas: The Southland Honors accepts nominations for businesses*, organizations, events held, and individuals based or living in Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange and Riverside Counties.
* Businesses don't have to be based in those counties, but must have a storefront or base of operations in the above counties. (i.e. Online businesses based in the Southland are eligible, as are businesses with branches in the Southland.)
- Criteria - have questions about the nominating criteria or awards descriptions? Read this!
- Confirmation - you will get an email verifying your nomination, assuming you gave us a valid email address. If you don't - please follow up to verify that you completed the process. You can email the treasurer who compiles the nominations at: slhonors (at) lalc (dot) info (This email has been made non-click able as a spam control measure, please cut and paste, remove blank spaces, and replace the (at) and (dot) with the appropriate symbols.)
