Fundraiser of the Year - Garry Bowie (Long Beach AIDS Foundation)
Event of the Year - DESIRE (Olga and Blu)
Mentor of the Year - Mike Gerle
Person of the Year - Will Hildreth
Chairman's Award - Jeff Wacha

 

The awards will be presented at the Henry David Hwang Theatre, Friday March 26th in Little Tokyo at 120 Judge John Aiso Street Los Angeles, CA 90012 (A block and a half from the host hotel.)


The Los Angeles Leather Coalition seeks to facilitate communication and mutual understanding among different segments of the leather - affiliated community, as well as promote unity through cooperative endeavors that offer entertainment, education, social interaction, and community service.

The Southland Honors awards were created to nurture an attitude of integrity and community pride, preserve tradition, and to recognize community service.

The Chair and Vice chair of the coalition, and individuals who won voted awards in 2009 are not eligible in any category in 2009.  These people are: Steve Ganzell, Richard Denton, Ms Diana, George Wong, Loren Berthelsen, Goddess Chal and Mistress Cyan.   Additionally, businesses are not eligible in the same category they won the year before, making the Eagle LA ineligible for Business of the Year in 2010.
